Carry Forth the Stories author Rodney Frey will be presenting a writer’s workshop sponsored by the Mountain West Center for Regional Studies at the Utah Humanities Council Book Festival on October 21, 2023 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The festival author schedule will be posted here.

Intertwining his own as well as stories from interviews, oral histories, and elders, seasoned anthropologist/ethnographer Rodney Frey offers personal and professional insights into the power and value of storytelling. A model for engaging with indigenous peoples, his work addresses permissions and cultural property rights, tribal review, “giving back,” and more. Frey’s book won the 2018 Handcart Award from the Mountain West Center for Regional Studies.
