Washington State College established the Nespelem Art Colony in 1937 to compile an artistic and historical record of the Indians in north central Washington. For five summers, participants took up residence in and around Nespelem, the headquarters of the Colville Confederated Tribes. This book provides a snapshot of the students, instructors, and Indians, and beautifully displays some of the artwork their partnership created.
